Davey O’Brien Semifinalists go head-to-head in Week 9

FORT WORTH, Texas – The 2012 Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award® Marquee Match-up for week nine highlights Davey O’Brien Semifinalists Seth Doege and Collin Klein as the Texas Tech Red Raiders travel to Manhattan, Kan. to take on the Kansas State Wildcats.
Fans can show their support for Doege and Klein, as well as any of the other 14 semifinalists, by visiting www.VoteOBrien.org and voting as often as once daily. The Fan Vote will count as five percent of the total vote in determining the finalists.

The Red Raiders are coming off an exhilarating triple-overtime win over TCU that included senior signal-caller Seth Doege throwing for a career-high seven touchdowns. Doege ranks first in the nation in points responsible for (24.57) and has led his Red Raiders to the fourth best passing offense in the NCAA with 361.71 yards per game.
Meanwhile, Collin Klein had four rushing touchdowns last weekend to become the Wildcats’ career leader in rushing touchdowns with 47. He also broke the FBS record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in consecutive seasons with 41. Klein, the most efficient quarterback in the Big 12 (175.79 rating), will try to keep his team undefeated and in contention for a BCS National Championship Game berth with a victory on Saturday afternoon.
