O’Brien Semifinalists go head-to-head in week 12

FORT WORTH, Texas – The 2011 Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award® (The O’Brien) Marquee Match-up for week 12, as chosen by fans on Facebook, features O’Brien Semifinalists Robert Griffin III and Landry Jones in a Big 12 showdown.

Fans can show their support for Griffin and Jones, as well as any of the other 14 semifinalists, by visiting www.VoteOBrien.org and voting as often as once daily. The Fan Vote will count as 5% of the total vote in determining the finalists.

Marquee Match-up: No. 5 Oklahoma at No. 25 Baylor
Saturday, November 19 at 7 p.m. (CT) on ABC

After engineering a 31-30 overtime win at Kansas last Saturday, Baylor’s biggest comeback victory on the road ever, Robert Griffin III will attempt to alter school history once again by taking down the Oklahoma Sooners for the first time in the programs’ 20 meetings. Griffin leads the Big 12 in passing efficiency (188.58 rating), total offense (396.78 yards per game) and points responsible for (22.89 per game).

With a berth to the BCS National Championship conceivably in reach, Landry Jones looks to keep the Sooners firing on all cylinders Saturday night when they faceoff against the Bears in Floyd Casey Stadium. Jones leads the Big 12 and ranks second nationally with 372.11 passing yards per game.
