O’Brien Semifinalists go head-to-head in week nine

FORT WORTH, Texas – The 2011 Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award® (The O’Brien) Marquee Match-up for week nine, as chosen by fans on Facebook, highlights O’Brien Semifinalists Robert Griffin III and Brandon Weeden as they square off in a Big 12 battle.

Fans can show their support for Griffin and Weeden, as well as any of the other 14 semifinalists, by visiting www.VoteOBrien.org and voting as often as once daily. The Fan Vote will count as 5% of the total vote in determining the finalists.

Marquee Match-up: Baylor at No. 3 Oklahoma State

Two of the top offenses in the country will battle it out on the gridiron this weekend when Robert Griffin III and the Baylor Bears (549.67 yards per game) travel to Stillwater, Okla. to take on Brandon Weeden and the undefeated Oklahoma State Cowboys (548.57 yards per game). Griffin leads the nation with 24 points per game and a 205.71 passer rating.

Weeden, a senior from Edmond, Okla., will try to move the Cowboys to 8-0 and keep their national championship hopes alive with a win at home against the Bears. Oklahoma State leads the Big 12 and ranks second nationally in passing offense (387.43 yards per game) and scoring offense (48.57 points per game).
