DENARD ROBINSON NAMED
DAVEY O’BRIEN QUARTERBACK OF THE WEEK

FORT WORTH, Texas – Denard Robinson has been named the Davey O’Brien Quarterback of the Week after leading Michigan to a thrilling 42-35 victory over Indiana. He received the same honor after beating Notre Dame the second week of the season.

The sophomore signal caller made a triumphant return after leaving last week’s game against Bowling Green with a bruised knee. On the Wolverine’s second offensive play, Robinson made an amazing 72-yard run for a touchdown. Overall he accounted for 494 yards of total offense and five touchdowns, including the game-wining score with 17 seconds left.

“He’s got speed, he’s got awareness, he’s got instincts, and he’s a very, very good passer as well,” stated Indiana head coach Bill Lynch.

Robinson completed 10 of 16 passes for a career-best 277 yards. He is the first player in Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) history to pass and rush for 200 yards in a game twice during the regular season, also accomplishing that feat at Notre Dame on Sept. 11.

Big Ten conference play continues for Robinson and the Michigan Wolverines this weekend when they take on the undefeated Michigan State Spartans in Ann Arbor, Mich.
