FORT WORTH, Texas – The 2010 Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award® (The O’Brien) Marquee Match-up for week two highlights O’Brien Watch List candidates Jacory Harris and Terrelle Pryor as they take on their first true test of the season.
Throughout the season, The O’Brien will highlight the best weekly quarterback match-up as the race for the oldest and most prestigious national quarterback award continues. Quarterbacks from all 120 NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) schools are eligible for the award until the field is narrowed to 16 semifinalists on Monday, Oct. 25.
Marquee Match-up: No. 12* Miami (FL) at No. 2* Ohio State
Saturday, September 11 at 2:40 p.m. (CT) on ESPN
After shutting out Florida A&M 45-0 in their season opener, junior quarterback Jacory Harris hopes to keep the momentum going for the Miami Hurricanes when he leads his team into the Horseshoe to face Terrelle Pryor and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Pryor, who is 20-4 as a starter, will try to have another balanced performance after accruing 247 passing yards and three touchdowns in a 45-7 rout over Marshall.
This is the first meeting between the two teams since their classic showdown in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl when the Buckeyes surpassed the heavily favored Hurricanes 31-24 in double-overtime to capture the BCS title. Even with the majority of the season remaining, Saturday’s outcome will have huge implications for both teams and their national championship aspirations.
